Not Just Buy Longgan and Rambutan…

DSC00340 Do you travel along Old Klang Road? When you are near to the OUG Plaza junction, do you notice there is a pedestrian overbridge with the yellow advertisement board? Of course, I am not to promoting the yellow company. What I mean to highlight here is, just near the stair case of the overpass, is a small truck selling longan and rambutan, maybe some other local fruit. The stall keeper is an Indian old man.

This evening I passed by the truck. I did not mean to buy anything but when I saw the old man with few children around, I change my mind. I asked him how much he can make a day? He said is around RM 20, because he is renting the truck from the boss and he only earn some little commission from what he manage to sell. The more he able to sell, the more he can make. I kiddingly ask him whether can give discount if I buy longan from him. He said can but then he will be no profit to make. Of course, I don’t know whether that’s true. But the children around is real. And the weakness of the old man is true.

He even told me that after he close down the business, he need to go for another job which is security guard from 11 to 7 o’clock. Only with that he could have “enough” income for his family. I wonder, with 1K plus how he can raise his few kids? All very small, kind of primary school only.

Next time if you pass by the area around 6-9 o’clock, wish that you can just go by and buy some fruit for your family. Of course, what I want to say here is, try to be more concern and sensitive about what’s happening around you. I read an article today, what made me very worry is, Malaysian seems too ignorance about things around them. When we don’t care and don’t help people in need, who is going to care and help us when we need? Even if you are extremely SELFISH type of mentality, you have to remind yourself that “what goes around, comes around”  ~one of my friend always say that.
