Security for Internet Banking… Avoid being Cheated by Phishing Emails.

image I did have another posting about the similar issue and was mean to remind the fellow friends do not ever believe in emails asking you to login to your Internet banking account by following any links (which is available here). This is kind of repetition but I do believe that security is worth to be reminded even multiple times.

So what all the Internet banking services I have ever used, emphasized to the users that they do not, in any circumstances email or phone the users to provide to them user name and password. Also, they will not request your to login to the Internet banking services by any links embedded in emails. You are encouraged to only login to the account with the official URL by keying it to the address bar of your browser.

So for next time if you have seen any email requesting you to login, to activate, to re-validate your account or what ever, the one and only response is to ignore it. Even better, please report to the bank to keep a record and for the bank to perform any further action if needed. Please do remind your friends who is new to internet banking to take note as well.
