Let’s Float
How much we spent to get Malaysian’s very first national owned sub-marine?
And now we heard that it refused to dive. It prefer to float all the way.
Alright, nothing’s perfect. Even world reputable car makers, Toyota and Honda recalls their cars that having serious design and manufacturing defects.
However, how many times a submarine fail to dive? We won’t know. Maybe other countries faced the same problem, and treated the problem as top secret and nobody in the world knows about it.
But what we have?
Defense Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said: “We have a warranty on the sub and we are confident the builders can fix it.”
Good. It’s so great attitude that our minister is honest enough to let people know about the defect. And, even better is, we know that we have to rely 100% on the ‘builders’ to fix it.
I just want to ask some question.
1. The problem occurred because of manufacturing defect, or because of human error while operating it?
2. Why the problem was not at first detected before the sub was handed over? Why our Ministry of Defense willing to accept such a sub quality product?
3. Is that a very serious failure, so complicated that our own engineers (I believe, we of course have packaged trainings for service engineers in the procurement contract), not able to solve? Or due to reliance to the ‘builder’, we don’t even bother to build our skill sets to solve the problems.
So, enough of bullshxt. We don’t even need a submarine at the first place. So what the hey if the sub can only float. What’s bothers more is our attitude towards problems when shxt happens.
I guess there won’t be much objection if I conclude that the attitude of what MinDef showed on this problem is ‘FAILED’.
Traffic Jam-mers, Come Together
The idea came during traffic jam. It was raining this evening and I was travelling on LDP, again, SESAK SEPERTI BIASA. I start to ask the same old question I keep asking whenever I in this kind of situation. “Why we must face traffic congestion day to day??”. Isn’t it should be better? Isn’t that we deserve better?
Well, if thing were to change, how? For years we don’t see improvement done by government. Is it possible that we as PEOPLE can do something to help ourselves? But, HOW?? There are a few ideas:
1. Work from home. What I means so far is work from home in general. A lot of industry that is allowable to work from home, for example sales in any business, IT support or programmers, traders, etc.
2. Travel in group. Try to gather your fellow colleagues or friends that work around the same area to travel together.
3. Differencing time of attending and leaving from office to spread the heavy load on the road at certain point in time.
4. Bla bla…
Well, then I start to think that if we all gather our mind and share some ideas, maybe we can ultimately find the best solution. Then it comes the facebook group idea. The idea is at first we need to know how many are there on the road everyday, what kind of population and job nature of the people, what are the things that possibly be improved, so on and so forth. Then we together educate and help each other to implement a better habit to reduce traffic burden. Maybe with people power, we could urge the government to be more proactively setting the right policy to solve the problem and plan for a better future.
Anyway, things is just started. At the beginning, we need the ball rolling by getting more minds in the group. CLICK HERE to join and share, discuss. Thank you.

Putra Jaya – Park and Ride…
Are you going to Putra Jaya, especially visiting the government head quarters? Do you know that if you were to drive into the area where most of the ministry head quarters located, for example Parcel E, you might not be able to find a place to park? Look at this:
This is how the traffic on the main road (Precint 1) looks like in the Friday afternoon.
The cars parked almost every single corner of the surrounding area within Parcel E Government Complex.
An alternative way to access to the government offices, that exist but not that much people aware of, is called “PARK AND RIDE”. It simply means, you just drive down and park your car in the park and ride terminal, there are buses that could bring you to where you want to go. There are a few park and ride terminals for people traveling to Putra Jaya and Cyberjaya. The problem is there is not a lot of awareness campaign for the public on the facilities.
The website information that I could find about it:
And, according to this news clip, the initiative of building monorail facility to link the Putrajaya township has been halted for 4 years. The relationship here is, the monorail was meant to facilitate patron that drive and park their cars in the terminal, then could take the monorail to visit places in Putrajaya. Click here for the original report.
So, just to share some of my personal experience when I tried to go Alamanda with Nadi Putra (suttle bus service that surrounds Putrajaya). I drove from Cyberjaya to Putrajaya Central, which you could easily find it by just follow “PARK AND RIDE” signage on the highway. I went into the terminal, and easily find a place to park, since not much public that knows and willing to use this facility.
Sign board that is easy for you to identify the right bus to ride.
The problem is, even there are many routes that could bring me to Alamanda, there weren’t any buses there. Then I start to wait. The bus only came after almost half an hour of waiting.
From the same terminal, we can access to ERL, Putrajaya station (if we take ERL from here then can actually end up in KL Central or KLIA) as well as some other buses to Cyberjaya and other towns around Klang Valley. I saw one that go to One Utama.
Alright, the bus finally came. We can not just pay with TouchnGo. It have to be coins of RM 0.50 or their special card which I don’t have. If you don’t have the change, you just end up paying extra. Or you may want to partner with another person that have small change and pay RM 1.00 for 2 person.
Going travelling into Putrajaya township was a great experience. You have the feel as you are in another country. No doubt, it is very highly organized and managed. It is really a huge investment that has been put in to build this township. However, due to aging and bad user attitude (standard la for Malaysian), some of the facilities is having visible damage and flaw.
The bus trip took me half an hour to reach Alamanda because it need to go through the housing area and round the government quarters. I am not sure whether I took the correct route, maybe it is other route that may take shorter time to reach Alamanda.
So instead of driving straight to where you want to go, end up facing difficulties to find a place to park, do consider park and ride. The caveat is you are not in damn rushing mode. Waiting for the bus and “eat wind” in the bus could just take you more than 1 hour from the terminal to where you want to be.
