Copied… No Mood to Write Anything..
Found this story circulating.. and heard the same story from a friend from IPOH. Anyone know the insider story of it? Is that true that they overspend on this?
THE ROBBING AND PLUNDERING HAS BEGUN AGAIN. DAULAT TUNKU.

RM800K for IPOH sign. Lucky our city’s got a short name. Or else pokai!
Guess how much this " IPOH " signage cost?
According to Malaysian Insider, Ipoh City Council confirmed that a total of RM800,000 was spent on 2 of these giant signs.
That’s RM400,000 per sign. Or RM100,000 per letter.
The Pakatan Rakyat (PR) ex-state govt said that the palace proposed the signs (and proposed 4 signs rather than the current 2). PR rejected it. BN usurped the state. Signs were then built and RM800,000 changed hands.
Look… I’m no construction engineer or signage expert, so I’m just pulling assumptions out of my ass. But I’m pretty sure RM800,000 can put a lot of stuff on the slope of those hills. Even if these signs were made of virgin marble, it wouldn’t cost that much. Heck.. even if they were made from virgins, it wouldn’t cost that much.
So, I’m asking. PR should be asking. The people of Perak should be asking…
- WHO WAS THE CONTRACTOR WHO POCKETED THE RM800,000? IS HE LINKED TO THE PALACE OR ANY POLITICIAN?
- HOW MUCH LESS WOULD IT HAVE COST UNDER A COMPETITIVE TENDER?
1000 Council-Owned Vehicles??
Every year, when the time comes to nearly end of August, we would start to question whether it is true that flying national flag named Jalur Gemilang shows that we are patriotic? Logically speaking there should be no direct connection between the action of flying flags and the attitude of loving the country. However, our leaders still in very high extends, believe that “flying the flags would help boost the people’s morale and love for the country, thus inspiring them to work harder and contribute more to the nation.”. However, what is intended to be highlighted and discussed here is not about flying flags. The question is, Ipoh city council alone owns about 1,000 vehicles, and it is about 780 of them are “officials’ cars”. How many officer is working under the city council and how many cars are they really needed to run the operation? Of course I am not sure whether this number is logical for a city size like Ipoh. From Wikipedia Ipoh have 1.1 million of population and if we do some simple math it is around 1:1500 official car to people ratio. Could anyone that able to explain what is the purpose of the cars that been purchased with people’s hard earned money? We don’t have revealed information for the rest of the city in the country. But earlier on, I have another post that showed police force, for just one community police station, having more than 15 patrol cars. Click here. Questions: 1. Are we over consuming? 2. The forecast did mentioned that the budget for the next year will still be high in deficit. Is that a time to review and understand whether the government is currently overspending?
