Phishing Online – Don’t Reply.
I did have a few post earlier with the intention to remind fellow friends not to believe in Phishing Emails requesting you to login to any internet banking facility. If you interested to read more, click here, and here.
Same as this one. I had just saw this email in my mailbox.
Even though it “look like Hotmail, write like Hotmail, but I am certain that it is not from Hotmail”. Why say so? For security reason, all the internet services won’t seek for users to send their information, especially those sensitive one like username, password, DOB and so on over un-encrypted channel, of course not a simply email. If they were to do so, they won’t attach a link to ask you login via the link also. They will need to request you to key in the very original service URL, for this example, you should be asked to visit http://www.hotmail.com/ and login to your account, then from there VERIFY your account. Please never never reply to such email. Maybe you can consider reporting the fraud to hotmail and get confirmation from them, if you feel uncomfortable leave it alone. However as what I said earlier, in terms of security, it worth redundant work. Please let your friends know also to beware about it.

Undi iKDN – Survey on Ministry of Home Affairs Website
I have just came across this survey conducted on the press release website of Malaysian Ministry of Home Affairs.
I am sorry, the website is only in Bahasa Malaysia. I can’t find any links for other language version, so I suspect there is none.
The website claims that medias could freely take any of the material from the website for their publication, therefore I think it should not be a problem if I just take the survey conducted here as material for my writings. Anyway, the disclaimer also said that you should be informed that this material is taken from: http://www.ikdn.org/ and http://www.ikdn.gov.my/. Ok, done. Again, it’s only Bahasa Malaysia version.
The survey is pretty interesting though. For example, looking at the first question. It says “dengan lanskap semasa Malaysia, adakah anda merasa…?” (based on current Malaysian landscape (situation), you feel that…?”). The 3 options are: – Safe, – Not Safe, – Not Sure.
The results are:
Like what you expected? Well, this is not some what a scientifically validated survey. So don’t be so serious about the results.
But when talking about public safety, I would like to just share, we should feel glad that we are in Malaysia. Just now when I passed by SS 2, Petaling Jaya. (for those that not sure where it is, click here). I really feel proud that we have all this:
In total we have more than 10 patrol cars there. It should be good enough to cover our areas and make sure that criminals rate is always lower than safety level. But why the results shows contradict answer? Is that because our people are too emotional, and always see things without objective judgment? What do you think of it? Don’t forget to go through the whole few questions on iKDN website then.
Additional info:- In any emergency case you need to know where SS 2 police stations is, refer to this (the circle):
